Huong Ly Restaurant (Richardson, TX)

Went there the other day with my wife and kids to try their Vietnamese "7 courses of  beef" (Bò 7 Món) based on recommendations from others on the web. I have to say it was not disappointed.
As the matter of fact, it is by far the best I have tried in the DFW area. The Mắm Nêm (the dipping sauce) was great. The meat dishes were not dry like other places and they taste great.

Just in case you're not familiar with this, the 7 courses of beef includes the following dishes (from Wikipedia):
  1. Gỏi bò: a salad made with pickled carrot, pickled daikon, and celery salad with thin strips of beef in nước mắm (fish sauce)
  2. Bò chả đùm: Beef patties served with rice crackers
  3. Bò nhúng dấm: Raw slices of beef to be cooked in a heated broth
  4. Bò nướng mỡ chài: Ground beef rolled in caul (a thin, fatty membrane)
  5. Bò lá lốt: Ground beef rolled in a Lolot leaf (very similar to a grape leaf)
  6. Bò nướng hành: Strips of beef rolled around a piece of scallion
  7. Cháo Bò: Beef Congee
One "7 courses of beef" (Bò 7 Món) is about $13 (i forgot the exact figure) but you do have to buy 2 orders. This is common for all restaurants that sell this.

I noticed other people also eat grill meat on their table (literally grilling meat on their table and roll up to eat) and the Ca Nuong Da Gion (Cá Nướng Da Giòn) baked catfish (another great dish). All of these dishes require you to use rice paper and make the rolls (like shrimp and pork spring roll) yourself. I'll definitely come back and try those out. Note that you would need to bring at least 1-2 friends with you for these. For the baked catfish, the smallest one is around $35 and feed about 4 people. You have to call in 1 hour ahead so they can prepare for you.

Update (08-20-2011):
We went back the other day with my sister family and get 3 orders of Bò 7 Món and 2 orders of grill meat. They were great. Everyone love the food. Give this restaurant a try and you won't be disappointed.

Update 2 (10-25-2011):
We just went back there the other night for their Baked Catfish. It was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the place has been updated a little.
