Western Digital WD Elements SE 1TB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive

Great small hard drive. This one is actually very small comparing to the Desktop version. Maybe 3x smaller. Very convenient to carry around. The USB cable that comes with the hard drive is a little short; 1.5 feet. Windows XP and Vista recognized it without any problem. No need to install any software. Also, you don't need a separate power adapter for this hard drive.
