C. Crane FM Transmitter 2

I have been looking for a system to transmit music from my computer to all the rooms through out my house for a while now and could not find one that can deliver with minimal amount of money. I looked at the options of specialized audio transmitter from Sony, Creative labs and others. They are kind of pricey if you want to transmit to more than 1 room. Since most of the rooms either have pre-wired with in ceiling speakers or alarm clock radios, I was also looking at the option of using FM transmitter to transmit the audio signal from my computer to my main multi-room receiver/amplifier. But to my disappointment, most of them are designed to be used in car and not for home use which needs an AC adapter. After googling around, I found 2 FM transmitters that fit what I need. One is the 'Whole House FM Transmitter 2.0' and the other is 'C. Crane FM Transmitter 2'. I decided to go with 'C. Crane FM Transmitter 2' for 3 reasons:

1) The website for 'Whole House FM Transmitter 2.0' does not look professional at all.
2) C. Crane is specializing the radio equipment so they should know what they're doing.
3) There is resistor inside the unit that can be turned to get more power based on the reviews from users of the old C. Crane FM Transmitter on Amazon.com.

I have to say I was not disappointed at all. The signal was clear and there is no interference at all. I now can play the same music on the patio, garage, Living room and 5 other rooms. What a great device.

You can also use this in a car transmitting music from your  MP3 player or iPod to your car stereo. I have tested and it worked great. I also own another FM transmitter and that did NOT work at all. Too much static and very short range (a few feet)

Descriptions:
AC adapter included, or use 2 optional "AA" batteries.
FCC compliant.
FM frequency between 88.3 MHz and 107.7 MHz.
Weight: 5.8 oz. Size 3" W x 3.5" H x 1" D.

Tips:
1) Go to www.radio-locator.com to find vacant frequencies in your city. This is to avoid interference from your local radio station.
2) If the signal is weak, you can adjust the output signal by doing the following.
- Open the 3 screws on the back to remove the back cover.
Note that the screws locations are marked by the arrows (==>). 2 of them are under the rubber feet and 1 inside the battery compartment. When removing the back cover, remember to unplug the power jack and lift up from this side first then slide the cover out of the input level dial.
- Using a small flat tip screwdriver, turn the resistor up until you  have the desired range.
3) Turn the input level dial on the side of the device when transmitting the audio signal and make sure the blinking light is GREEN all the time. RED means the input signal is too high and the device cannot handle that level of audio input.
